List of Levels

Vanilla Dome 1 is the first level from the third world of Super Mario World, Vanilla Dome, right after you beat Castle #2. It features Spike Tops, and lots of Buzzy Beetles. In this level, Mario has two exits to choose from, either going left or right on the overworld.

Level Design

The level begins with a Spike Top slowly making his way to you. The first bat is placed so that it is unlikely that you will get hit by him, making the player aware of these bats. Early on in the level, the player encounters either outlined or filled Red Switch blocks, depending on wither this is the player's first time through or another time. If the player hits the block above the Red blocks, they will find a vine that will take them to the Key and Keyhole.

Beyond this, the player enters a pipe and heads into an area with sinking layer 2, that the player (with the aid of a star) must cross quickly to avoid ending up in the lava. This is also technically the first appearance of the Blargg, although they can only be heard.

After another pipe, the player crosses the midway point and enters into an area with a low ceiling and many Spike Tops, making it difficult to navigate.

Mario avoids a Koopa and Jumping Plant.
