The Devious Four Chronicles is a group founded by SMWCentral Users S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N and metalgearhunter. The hack series started out as a collaberation between the two brothers and featuring their main Villains SCORPION and Hunter. Their first game (SCORPION's Wrath) was the first project they made, and worked together on for the series, which at the time was named "The Hunter and SCORPION Mythos". The two brothers worked both together and apart in their own projects for a while until they became aware of two other users, JELLJELL1111 (to become known as Chikane) and Sniggerb0bble in 2009, and they were both starting out on their own projects at the time. The brothers asked the other two whether they wanted to join in on their series, of which they gladly accepted. Since then, the four of the members have worked together and apart on their own projects and have continued to grow and advance as time went on. As of the 24th February 2010, the series has changed its name to The Devious Four Chronicles to reflect the new members. As of 6th July 2010, The Devious Four Chronicles has been disbanded, and all hacks are being redone.

Now that all has been cleared between all four members, metalgearhunter and S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N. are now officially starting over thir side of the Chronicles, in The New Devious Four Chronicles. Two new enemies (Racter and Magna) have been made to replace the positions of Randor and Sniggerbobble in hacks like Hunter's Revenge 4 and The Black Hole, which the hack's plots relied heavily on all four villains. But don't expect them to be just total replacements, new attitudes and powers are given to them, and they may seem even more evil than both Sniggerbobble and Randor were in this series of hacks). (Don't get the wrong idea, they will still be a major threat on The Destructive Devastating Duo Saga.

The Devious Four Chronicles is seperated into two other sub-categories:

The Hunter's Revenge Series

S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N.'s Wrath

They are made by Metalgearhunter and S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N.

The Hunter's Revenge Series includes the four hacks, Hunter's Revenge 1 - Recharged, Hunter's Revenge 2 (to be recharged), Hunter's Revenge 3 and Hunter's Revenge 4, which are respectively metalgearhunter's.

S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N.'s Wrath includes the three hacks Mario: The Blackhole, Mario: The Blackhole - Part 2, and The Chronicle of SCORPION. These are respectively S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N's hacks.

The Devious Four Chronicles Finale: The Four Orbs

-Personality:

Racter is a self-centered, but sense-thinking kind of guy. Racter likes to hide his face by wearing an intimidating mask, considering his real face is not so scary. When Racter fights, he tries to stay away from his enemy, seeing as he has great long range power, but a weak stature. Racter is not as mean as he is as trying to be intimidating. As Racter is selfish, he wants to use the Earth as his home or location of center control when he rules the universe. Every planet Racter has visited has succumb to his power and accepted him as ruler. He hates Hunter (Retnuh possessed) and SCORPION for running into a few of his planets and destroying them for some unknown reason.

-History:

Racter was created, along with the other Devious Four Members in the far edges of the galaxy. As the others, he started as a floating orb, but his element is Selfishness. Over the centuries, he soon formed his own body out of the embodiment of the selfishness of the planets he destroyed. When he gained his new found body, he took over planets and now has over 50 thousand under his rule. Most have been destroyed by Hunter and SCORPION for no unknown reason.

When Retnuh possessed a being by the name of Hunter, and Magna gained his body, as well as SCORPION gaining his, they all met and traveled for about 5 centuries, destroying planets, but over the time, Hunter and SCORPION pushed Racter around and over the time, they done exactly what ONLY they wanted to do, and never considered his opinion. Now Racter steers clear of Hunter and SCORPION and ultimatly hates them, though is afraid to show it to them knowing they could make the Devious Four the Triad Three...

Racter will now only call Hunter and SCORPION in dire emergencies.

Mario: The Fourth Sector

Hunter's Revenge 3: Hunter's Return

Hunter's Revenge 4: Retnuh's Fire

Mario: The Blackhole

Personality:

SCORPION is most possibly the most evil and cunning out of the Devious Four. He is the leader, "the Alpha and Omega", the creator of the Devious Four. He is the very life of the squad.

SCORPION is a brute. He is big, fast and as known so far, indestructible. He is a machine with a brain bigger than his buddies. When Mario manages the destroy the metallic menace, he always comes back some way. One thing that seperates him from the other four is the fact that he is most intellegent of the four and has managed to keep control of all his creations, with the exception of Sputnik, who always betrays him.

He has about 3 different armies at his disposal, all created and developed by SCORPION. His first army is the most classic, the drones; which are basically smaller (and much weaker) versions of himself. The second is a Virus Army, which contains little variations of troopers. The last army is his Secret Army, which also acts like the Viruses, only they are much more common.

If that was already bad, then that isn't the worst. SCORPION is capable of building doomsday devices, such as gigantic space stations that are capable of shattering planets, imploding cores, or even creating black holes! SCORPION has also made many other things.

History:

SCORPION is an Organic Machine that was devoloped on Arinid as a weapon that would save Arinid from the ones that enslaved it, the X's. The egg he was in was sent to develop in an unknown world known as the Plasma World. When he hatched as a child, he emerged from the world and fought for his planet... however, the X's defeated him and blew him away into outer space.

As a teenager, he landed on an unsuspecting planet known as Galaga. He grew up under the care of the King and Queen of that planet, (which was rather small for a planet) and raised as a prince. However, he was a bug, an alien, and didn't fit in with the other Galagians. (which looked like animals with human anatomy) He became lonely, and that made him bitter. Over the lonely years in space, he became angry.

As time passed on Galaga, he grew more and more lonely, which led to hatred. He hated Galaga... along with everything there. He decided to use an ability in him to grow and give birth to seven drones. (known as the First Seven) These drones helped him secretly convert the Castle into a Drone Mass Production Factory. After he had his army raised, he overthrew the king and queen and took control. He killed off all life on the planet in short time and converted the entire planet into a Drone Factory.

However, this didn't make his hatred go away. He hated all life in the Universe, and also saw the opportunity to gain in power. To do this, he destroyed planets. He will keep on doing so until he feels he is powerful enough to go back to Arinid and destroy the X's and restore Arinid to its former prime.

Fun Facts:

• SCORPION is the only one of the group to have 3 armies.

• He is very smart, but also very VERY insulting.

• In Hunter and SCORPION's Bet, he loves money.

• SCORPION doesn't like Hunter very much, he does anything to get Hunter off his back.

• SCORPION invented Sputnik... who is an elite merc that seems to be the most egotistic thing in the world.

• SCORPION seems to know when Sputnik betrays him.

• He will hit any of his team members when they are acting up.

• SCORPION seems to have an obsession with both money and inventing things

• SCORPION used to have an 8-bit sprite, but that was changed after Fourth Sector was finished.

• The SCORPION as seen on Future Flash Recall is actually the SCORPION that was sealed in the temple about 300 mellenia ago.

Hunter and SCORPION's Bet: Hunter's Path to Power - By Metalgearhunter

-Personality:

Evil (Retnuh Possessed) Hunter

Hunter is a crude, destructive being with a temper to match. Hunter is fueled by his desire to kill Mario and everything he loves to get his revenge. Hunter is not very egotistic and knows when he doesn't stand a chance. Hunter ussaully tries his best to kill Mario, even though he never succeeds. Hunter claims he will kill Mario the next time they meet, but it ussually ends up the other way around at his final stronghold.

Hunter has an array of powers he can use against Mario, such as dissappearing and reappearing where you DON'T want him to be (quite strange, only Hunter does it when the other magikoopa DF sprites don't). Hunter has also shown recent new abilities in Hunter's Revenge Recharged, the ability to shield himself into a ball of power. Hunter can also launch projectiles from his hand.

At the end of HR2, Hunter recieves a power known as "Dead Power", which gives him an ability no one else has, the ability to control the after life and not die, though this really would have helped him if he had acheived this before his death. Hunter loses this power when Racter is able to copy Hunter's Dead Power and expells Retnuh, the true Devious Four Member which controlled him all along.

Good Hunter

This version of Hunter is only seen in Hunter's Revenge 4 and Mario: The Blackhole. Hunter has little power of what he had before, and he cooperates with Mario to destroy evil doers. His goal in life though, is to achieve his revenge: To kill Retnuh for taking his body and using it for nothing but evil (giving the series name purpose). In the Blackhole hack, Hunter is a spirit warrior, who is usually accompanied by his friend, another Spirit warrior he trained himself, Gyonsuki. Hunter seems to know alot about the after life and other realms and hidden worlds, such as Gensokyo. He is very knowledgable and usually tips Mario on things he should be aware of.

-History:

Hunter was a peaceful warrior on his planet, destined to be the greatest warrior alive, until Retnuh, a member of the Devious Four, chose him as it's host in which to evolve in. About a thousand years later, he went to Planet Ratrah, and fought thier greatest hero, Mier. Mier won about 3 times before he finally killed him and his planet. Shortly after, Hunter crashlanded in the Mushroom Kingdom through a meteor, ready to destroy again.

Hunter scowered and destroyed planets, but not on his own will, and now he has to live knowing he killed millions of innocent souls.

-Fun Facts:

• Hunter is not officially a Devious Four Member as it was Retnuh that committed all of Hunter's evil acts through him.

• Hunter has two actual sides to himself, Hunter, and Retnuh.

• Hunter is the only one to have held "Dead Power"

• He failed 3 attempts at his revenge

• Hunter actually fights the Devious Four after Hunter's Revenge 3

• In Hunter and SCORPION's Bet, Hunter is friends with the Devious Four (excluding Retnuh).

• Hunter hates SCORPION, but remains his friend on Hunter and SCORPION's Bet.

• Hunter can sense waves emmitting from objects.

• Hunter once had an 8-bit look.

• Hunter smiles alot.

• Hunter is selfish, especially towards the green stuff, MONEY!

• Hunter hates yogurt, and yoshi's.

• Hunter loves Ptooies.

• Hunter is the only Magikoopa sprite than can actually get in your freaking way!

Hunter's Revenge 4: Retnuh's Fire

-Appeared in:

Hunter's Revenge 4: Retnuh's Fire

Hunter's Revenge 4 Part 2: Retnuh's Fire

Mario: The Blackhole

-Personality:

Retnuh is the meanest of the Devious Four, and the last to be revealed. Retnuh by far, has the most deadly of powers, making him the most feared. Retnuh is a being of fire, therefore, opponents must avoid close hand combat with him. Retnuh has been the first to successfully takeover Earth and all of it's people.

Retnuh holds a power known as "Dead Power", which he consumed when he was expelled by Racter from Hunter's being. It was once believed Retnuh was just Hunter's evil side, but it has been proven that Retnuh was a spirit that had possessed Hunter and stole all of his power for himself, multiplying it with his original. Not much is known about him except he is a true essense of evil itself.

Retnuh is the ruler of the Evil Spirit world, and has even created his own Realm, proving he has alot more power than originally thought. Retnuh was once an immortal being, but that power was obliterated when Hunter used the power of the 5 Orbs of Power to destroy Retnuh's Immortality, thanks to the knowledge of the Cezar Council. Retnuh was once the greatest threat to all, dead and alive.

Retnuh has several unique abilities

-The power to control minds

-Control over Death

-The power to reside a piece of himself inside another living creature (unknowingly of course), so he may revive himself through that little peice and that creature's life force.

-Ability to control fire

-Ability to possess bodies, dead and alive.

-Ability to Spawn organism of fire

-Teleportation (flying too)

-Influention (force influence over powerful minds)

-Ability to open portal to the Spirit Realm

-Ability to revive an essense for his bidding

"Dead Power"

-Cloning himself

-Ability to fight temporarily after being killed

-Being revived easily

-Greater strength and power in the Spirit Realm

-Influence over dead (Fallen) beings

-History:

Retnuh, was once one of the original evils of the universe (Devious Four), and possessed Hunter. Over the time, Retnuh used Hunter to do his will, and he did. Retnuh later lost control over Hunter and had to be expelled by Racter. When Retnuh was split from his former host, he was a seemingly-industructible essense. In this form, if the Stone of Fire was to be destroyed, then he could be easily taken care of, but in this form, Retnuh's mind had a power to control evil individuals very easily. Retnuh also had the ability to give a sample of his power to these beings. With Racter's help, Retnuh got the Stone of Fire, and had completed his body, giving him immortality.

-Fun Facts:

Retnuh is the last of the Devious Four to show themself.

Retnuh was once believed to be Hunter's Evil Side.

Retnuh has the ability to create Realms

Retnuh has the most variaty of powers

Retnuh is only in 2 hacks of The Devious Four Chronicles.

Retnuh has alot of mind control powers.

Retnuh is the meanest of the Devious Four

Retnuh is the first to control Earth.

-Personality:

Sonic is a self-righteous, fun-loving kind of guy. He is a blue hedgehog who can run up to sonic-speed, basically, faster than sound. Sonic has a kind of phobia to any kind of romance directed at him, but finds it a little cute that some one could like a guy like him. He personally doesn't mind relationships like that if it is with 2 other people.

--In the Chronicles--

After being met by Mario, Sonic helps Mario defeat Hunter and it is soon known that he has a great deal of hatred towards him, which is kind of out of character for him. After Hunter's defeat, he goes on living in the Mushroom Kingdom and takes a room inside of Peach's Castle as a guest of honor, considering he aided Mario in destroying one of the Devious Four. In Peach's Castle, Sonic only has one chore, look out for anything suspicious. When Peach is stolen by Bowser, if Mario can't do the job, Sonic will be the first to take Bowser on. Though the only backside is, he doesn't know how to swim, so if he ends up in a molten lava lake and presses a P-Switch to cool down the lava, he still can't get past unless Mario comes up to help him.

-History:

Sonic's whole world was destroyed when Hunter, a being possessed by Retnuh, a member of the Devious Four, single-handedly took down everything. Ever since then, Sonic was forever changed due to losing everything he ever cared about, and has decided to chase down Hunter until he could take him down. It has been proven that Hunter was too strong for him to thwart alone and teams up with Mario to take him down... permanently.

-Fun Facts:

Sonic is owned by the SEGA corporation and I have no rights or owner ship over him. His appearance in the Chronicles is only there because I like Sonic alot.

-Sonic lives in Peach's Castle

-Sonic loves to run

-Sonic once lost a race against time

Locations

Whenever a new part of the Devious Four Chronicles is released it often results into a new location the player needs to go to. This varies from the Mushroom Kingdom to Mobius, and from Enteria Island to the Cataclaysm. These locations are being ordered in the catogories that are also ordening the games. Because in some parts of the timeline one location doesn't exist yet, or is getting destroyed.

Locations visited throughout the Chronicles

This section is solely for special locations that are visited throughout the entire Chronicles, or in more than 1 Saga.

SCORPION's Temple

Location:

Deep in the Earth's crust. The Entrances to this place are scattered throughout the globe. Two or Three entrances are commonly found near eachother.

Appeared In:

Super Mario: The Crater

Mario: The Fourth Sector

Hunter's Revenge 4

Mario: The Blackhole

Hunter and SCORPION's Bet 2: The Gem of Twilight

Carter's Quest (ReVised)

History/About:

SCORPION's Temple is a dark, dreadful, dreary, dissatifying, discouraging, disabsolute, distasteful, and disdaining place to be. Legend told the machine of malice (SCORPION) would arrive at Earth and begin destroying the planet. Ancients built a small temple to contain him. The ancients did succeed in sealing him inside. However, he wasn't petrified. SCORPION liked what he saw and used it to his advantage. Over many years, he expanded it enough into a complex system. Before he could get out... he was petrified.

Today, the Temple is an un-mapped, giant complex web of networks that contain even more complex nodes. This place is a key location to the Devious Four and the most visited throughout the Chronicles. This place is visited many time for many more different reasons.

Myths and Secrets:

- SCORPION's Temple is said to have been built by SCORPION's past self, the one encountered on Future Flash Recall.

- The Temple can be armed with a security system unlike no other. Mostly containing traps and even a freezing mechanism in certain areas.

- The place is so complex, it hard to even backtrap steps... let only revisit a place visited long ago.

Fun Facts:

In Super Mario: The Crater, this is the final level. Takes place after "SCORPION's Synth". SCORPION is first sealed here and not "truly" released until "Mario: The Blackhole

In Mario: The Fourth Sector, this isn't neccisarily a "SCORPION's Temple" level, but is just a basic level that shares the name, with the use of inferior temple GFX.

In Hunter's Revenge 4, this level is revealed to be the first location of the Orbs that need to be found.

In Mario: The Blackhole, SCORPION's Temple serves as the key to SCORPION's plans, and how to stop him. It is ran into a total of 3 times in the whole "Black Hole" series.

In Hunter and SCORPION's Bet 2: The Gem of Twilight, the spin-off series, SCORPION's Temple is the 5th level of the game (as it is in Black Hole) and is used to collect the Portals of Twilight.

The Orbitual Void

Idea behind it

Since all hacks made by S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N. are being remade, (The Crater, Fourth Sector, NOT Black Hole) all remade hacks AND future hacks will have reference to SCORPION's ultimate goal: To enter the Orbitual Void. This idea first came up while S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N. was in the making of a level called "Orbitual Temple." The whole idea behind the Orbitual Void is basically a sub-plot for the Devious Four Chronicles. However, not all Devious Four Hacks will include information about the Orbitual Void. Location:

Within another realm. The Orbitual Void is located at the uncharted area's of the universe.

Appeared In:

Super Mario: The Crater

History/About:

The Orbitual Void is the home of the Devious Four. This is where they were originally created. However, only SCORPION is aware of it's presence. The Orbitual Void is the source of all Devious Four and SHOULD be considered the most sacred place to them. Magna, Racter, and even Retnuh have no idea of its presence. There aren't very many portals to it, and each can only be used twice. Once to enter, once to leave. Once left, that specific portal closes forever.

The Orbitual Void is first seen in The Crater, as a boss room in the "Orbitual Temple" level. It is secondly encountered as the final part in the "SCORPION's Fortress" level in World 5: SCORPION's Iceberg. It is later seen as the Final Level in the "SCORPION's Synth."

-History:

This world is one of the darkest that exists. This world is a hell for far eviller villians, and is ruled by Hunter in Hunter's Revenge 2 and Hunter's Revenge 3. Food is very scarce, so evil souls fight over it for themselves. It is said when Hunter ruled the Cataclaysm (After HR2 and Before HR3) that all spirits gave Hunter loyalty, respect, and 3/4 of the food they had, or they would perish and burn in a section of the Cataclaysm, Lucanade, where souls burned forever and ever. The Cataclaysm seems to be able to self develope, such as taking on the forms of destructed cities, lava forests, and ice volcanoes. Hunter has complete control over this realm until Retnuh is released, and soon controls all of the evil parts of the Spirit Realm.

The Fourth Sector

Located: Inbetween all dimensions

-Appeared in: Mario: The Fourth Sector

-History: The Fourth Sector is place few know about... and even fewer have visited. This world was created by an entity known as "The Gem." The Fourth Sector is home to creatures known as the Fourth Sectorians, and more known "Sectorials". The Sectorials are the gaurds of the Fourth Sector. Fourth Sector is also home to the Interdimensional Transporter, a machine built by the Sectorials to keep those traveling from dimension to dimension out of thier world. If the gem were to get destroyed... the explosion would be so powerful, that it would suck in all other dimensions into one, known as "Utterdestruction."

-Myths and Secrets:

• The World of "Utterdestruction" was originally intended to be included in the hack Mario: The Fourth Sector; however, this was removed due to issues with certain factors, and therefore replaced with the world SCORPION's Space Station.

• All levels link to the core of the Fourth Sector, these links are known as the Bonus Rooms.

• Fourth Sector was originally going to have a sequal known as "Hikari: The Fourth Sector" but was canceled due to lack of interest.

• The Fourth Sector is a world that is going to be navigated in Mario: The Blackhole Part 2.

-Fun Facts:

• The Gem is constantly referred to atleast believed to be the Master Emerald from Sonic the Hedgehog; however, this is a false belief.

• Travel inbetween dimensions was inspired by The Second Reality Project series. Basically, S.C.O.R.P.I.O.N. thought it would be nice to have a dimension in between all others... to provide a link between Cataclaysm, Sacred Realm, and others.

SCORPION's Space Station

SCORPION has a habit of building enormous Space Stations throughout the games he is the main villian in. These "Space Stations" usually serve as the last world in a hack that he is the main villian. The Space Stations serve different purposes throughout the different games. Sometimes it serves as a planetary destroyer, other times it is used to generate giant gravity wells. The only game that doesn't have a Space Staion is Super Mario: The Crater. Mario: The Blackhole is unique in this section because Part 1 doesn't have a Space Station as the final world, but instead Part 2 has one as the final world instead.

Proof that SCORPION's Space Stations are really huge is the difference about to be noted. The Space Station in Mario: The Fourth Sector only takes up a submap, thus the whole thing isn't shown. The Space Station in Mario: The Blackhole Part 2 will take up all of the Overworld.

SCORPION's SOPDPG Space Station

Located: Above the Stratosphere

-Appeared in: Mario: The Fourth Sector

-History:

SCORPION's SOPDPG Space Station is the final world in Mario: The Fourth Sector. It floats above SCORPION's Hell with its SOPDPG Gun aimed straight at the Fourth Sector. This world is unique from the others due to the factor of Low Gravity. It has a tileset and backgrounds that are used throughout five long, difficult levels. The Final Level, the SOPDPG, hosts the final Battle against SCORPION.

This is the most common Space Station encountered throughout the Chronicles. Encountered atleast 3 different times. After it was destroyed in Mario: The Fourth Sector, it crashed and burnt all of the Fourth Sector to ash. The Sectorials were able to save "The Gem" non-the-less. The Gem then proceeded to revive it.

-Myths and Secrets:

• SCORPION's SOPDPG Space Station is the only world to not have bonus rooms.

• The Space Station is said to have serve as the command post for both SCORPION's Fleet and his army.

• All of SCORPION's plans rely heavily on creating a Space Station of mass destruction.

-Fun Facts:

• This space station is seen in:

-Mario: The Fourth Sector as the Final World -Mario: The Blackhole as the Third Epic Level in world SCORPION's Hell. It is called "Crashed Space Station"

• This is the only world in the Chronicles so far to have low gravity. This fact will be nullified when Mario: The Blackhole Part 2 is finished.

• This world, as all final worlds, use more difficult versions of every tactic used in the game.

• This is only place to not have links to a Bonus Room.

• All five levels in the Space Station use the same Tileset and most possibly Background.

• This world has 2 levels prior to it.

• The "used to be" only access to SCORPION's Space Station was "SCORPION's Mansion"

SCORPION's BHPG Space Station

Located: Above the Stratosphere (in the Mushroom Kingdom)

-Appeared in: Mario: The Blackhole Part 2.

-History:

This Space Station is the most enormous machine built by SCORPION yet. This is the "Black Hole Particle Generator" Space Station. This place serves as the Semi-Final World to Mario: The Blackhole Part 2. This place is the place where the Blackhole is created and used to destroy the mushroom kingdom, along with everything else. Gyonsuki and Hunter lend Mario thier power. Unlike the last Space Station, this one have 5 different live generators... each generator is one of the most known Youkai from the Touhou Project. This world is only world in the entire chronicles to hold 5 Epic Levels. Mario has to fight every member of the Devious Four atleast 5 times here. All the "Normal Levels" in this world have the difficulty of an Epic Level from Part 1.

-Myths and Secrets:

• This World holds the key to destroying SCORPION.

-Fun Facts:

• This is the first machine built by SCORPION to succeed in destroying the Mushroom Kingdom completely due to the Blackhole that is successfully generated.

- The Plasma World is the only place where Heart Expansions can be found in the hack Mario: The Blackhole - More to come -
