Star Road

Star Road is a star-shaped patch in Super Mario World that usually connects Dinosaur Land to Star World. There is also a Star Road connecting Star World to the Special World, and a one-way patch that connects Special World to Yoshi's Island. A Star Road is typically discovered after finding a specific Secret Exit.
Star Roads
- Donut Plains Star Road: To find it, you have to beat Donut Secret House's Big Boo Boss. Donut Secret House is accessible after finding the Secret Exit of Donut Secret 1, which can only be entered after finding Donut Plains 1's Secret Exit. This star connects to Star World 1.
- Vanilla Dome Star: You have to find the Secret Exit of Vanilla Dome 1, then find the Secret Exit of Vanilla Secret 1. This star connects to Star World 2.
- Twin Bridges Star: Find the Secret Exit of Cheese Bridge Area and beat Soda Lake. This star connects to Star World 3.
- Forest of Illusion Star: Find either the Secret Exit of Forest of Illusion 1 or the normal exit of Forest of Illusion 3 to enter Forest Ghost House. Find Forest Ghost House's Secret Exit, then Forest of Illusion 4's Secret Exit. From there, beat Forest Secret Area and Forest Fortress to gain access to this Star Road. This star connects to Star World 4.
- Valley of Bowser Star: Find Valley of Bowser 4's Secret Exit. This star connects to Star World 5.
- Star World Star: Find the Secret Exit of Star World 5. This star connects to Gnarly in the Special World.
Trivia
- Finding Star Roads is the preferred method of speedrunning Super Mario World, as the game can be completed in only 11 levels by going straight to the Star Road in Donut Plains upon reaching the world, then completing Star World 1 through Star World 4, thus opening the path to Bowser's Castle.
