Overwiew
It uses a high and low layer 3 tide setting, making the level more difficult. Mondo is one of the only levels in Super Mario World that uses the muncher object. The Hammer Brothers make the level more difficult as the hammers are harder to dodge in water. Also, there are some fish and munchers in the ground, and this last, looks like they are floating, because there is "nothing" under them, Yoshi helps a lot in the water, especially when you're in parts of the Hammer Brothers, even if a hammer strikes you, Yoshi will run out, more will fall in the Munchers, so you will have the chance to catch him again,The Fishes in this level can be kicked off of the scenery, if no water there, Mario can touch him and kick him off!
Trivia
- This is one of a few levels that contains a sub-level with the almost unusual Cloud tileset (the cloud part in the Forest tileset).
- The name Mondo is a Italian name. The level supposedly looks like the streets of Venice.
- It is actually possible to swim underneath the entire level.
