Awesome is the fourth level in the Special World, and is one of the most challenging levels in the game because it involves running and jumping over thin, slippery platforms whilist being bombarded by Banzai Bills and Flying Cheep Cheeps.

Strategy

Run right and proceed over the small dips and valleys (watch out for shell-kicking Koopas and flashing ivincible shells. After a bit, you will notice an arch ledge, two Frozen Turn Blocks, and a ? block. Hit the ? block and grab the star. The next section involves jumping over Arch Ledges and Frozen Turn blocks while avoiding Flying Cheep Cheeps and the occasional Banzai Bill; the star helps immensely. After that gauntlet, jump on the ground ledge and break the goal tape to finish.

Special Notes

Awesome is one of the few, if not the only level to use the grassland ice palette. It is also the only level to feature Frozen Turn Blocks, Arch Ledges, and the Flying Cheep Cheep sprite. It is also noted for having one of the longest Star-runs in the original SMW.
